3 Ways To Be Kind On Social Media

Social media was created to connect with long-lost friends, family, and to make new friends! It is a way to interact and share stories with one another. It seems in 2026, we have lost sight of that. It is time we bring back the interactions that make us laugh, smile, and communicate with one another with love. No judgment, no shame, and no bullying! Here are 4 easy and simple ways you can contribute to social media in a postive way. Most of all, make someone’s day!

1.) Writing A Positive Comment

If you have a friend that post a picture of a cake, is excited about a new outfit, sharing a new job opportunity, this is the perfect time to share and contribute to the positivity! Give them a boost. they may need it. Don’t shift the conversation to you, keep it about them! We have a tendency of shifting focus on us instead of being interested in others and the moment they want to share with us. Not your fault! This is just how the human brain works and we need to train it.

They posted a picture of a cake? Oh my gosh! The cake looks delicious. How did you enjoy it?

Are they excited about a new outfit? Cool outfit!

Sharing a new job opportunity? Congratulations! You must be thrilled to start with the company.

Ask a question if you want to keep the convo engaging with your friend, coworker, or family member. Your comments can brighten someone’s day.

2.) Stay Out Of The Gossip Post

Gossip posts and invasion of privacy are big on socials. We tend to forget that celebrities and influencers are human! They have a lot of comments that can affect their mental health, and it can be overwhelming at times, even hurtful. Being the 1 person not contributing to the madness is a huge difference you are making. You are contributing to The Bright Project and the kindness we are meant to show others by not riding the invasive bandwagon of negative comments. Be part of the community that spreads joy, not shame. By not commenting, you are throwing water on the flames, burning it out, one post at a time.

3.) Follow Bright Accounts

When we say bright, we mean positive and uplifting users. They have plenty online! How does following bright accounts help you share kindness on social media? Because it brings joy to you that you would want to share with others! Have you ever heard a beat or song that makes you jump to your feet and puts you in a great mood? This is what social media posts and accounts can do for you, too! If your brain is interacting with good stuff, you will pour good stuff into others. We are meant to be light, shine yours into others in a bright way!

” 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. ” – Matthew 5:15-16
